Rogla

Rogla is one of the best tourist destinations in Slovenia, so it is right to get to know it a little bit. Rogla is a place and a hill, which is one of the most important ones in the Pohorje.
Rogla is situated on the height of 1517 meters, surrounded by pure streams and forests and green grassland. Touristic resort Rogla got its name from the mountain with the same name, which is only about 15 kilometers away from Zreče and about 20 kilometers from Slovenjske Konjice. Even though this is the main direction, where the most visitors come from, the road through Sv. Lovrenc na Pohorju also leads there.

In the year 1934, there was an observationtower built, which is still standing today. The hut on Rogla was burned in time of the Second World War, but was renovated soon after it. In the year 1980 also the Planja Hotel was built and later the bungalows. The development of skiing and cross country started and after a couple of years it grew into the great sports center.

There is more than 10 kilometers of skiing tracks of different difficulties today, and more than 25 kilometers of cross country tracks. Rogla became a modern winter sports center, including a stadium, which is because of the height of 1500 meters really something special. There are also fields for playing tennis, basketball, football and volleyball. Rogla is well known also for its full of adrenaline sleight track, which is opened almost the whole year.

With more than 1000 parking spots and 1500 beds in hotels and bungalows, Rogla is a perfect place for spending your free time and vacations in every season of the year. It is well taken care of cuisine, entertainment and health.

The air in Rogla is rich in oxygen, suitable and even healthy for lung diseases and offers a good environment for allergic people. Rogla has its own medical center, where is also a special pulmonology clinic.

Besides the sports, Rogla offers recreative activities for people of all ages. It’s the starting point of many footpaths around Pohorje, so the visitors never ran out of new places to explore. Lovrenška jezera lakes, the important natural attraction, are easily accessible for all guests by the footpath. In the immediate vicinity is the observation tower and the hut on the Jurgovo is easily accessible too.
